In 2016 Jillian van Turnhout leveraged her decades of experience on various Boards, as a leader in Irish and EU politics and NGO’s, as well as a directorship in a commercial enterprise to launch her consulting firm.

Jillian van Turnhout has successfully held a variety of leadership roles in Ireland and the EU across business, public affairs and voluntary sectors. She has served as a Director, CEO and Public Representative and has built a strong public reputation for integrity and sound judgement.

Jillian’s governance expertise emanates from over twenty-five years serving and chairing Boards along with her recognised accreditation as a Chartered Director (IoD UK), certified in international corporate governance from INSEAD, and an Institute of Directors Certificate in Company Direction with distinctions in governance, strategy and leadership.

As Chair of Gaisce I approved the appointment of Jillian to complete a comprehensive Governance review. We have always strived to establish best practice and this was an opportunity to test that and to see where we could improve.

Jillian completed a most comprehensive review engaging with the myriad of stakeholders including Council members. She was able to present back a report that was practical, informative, impactful and done in a way that no one felt “put upon”. We have accepted and are implementing all of the recommendations.
